For those of you not familiar with it, Lightning Quick Reads is a new short story blog created by Kai Strand. Each month features a new topic, and the participating authors will interpret that topic however they want in a short story. January’s theme is ‘GOALS.’ Today marks my first story. In Foreign Exchange, the narrator recounts a story from his childhood soccer team and his dream of playing goalie. I hope you enjoy it. Pfffft (blows proverbial raspberry)…like I really need any rationale as to why I read Stephen King. His books are awesome. His storytelling is just unbelievably good. He is easily the most recognized writer of all time and will probably go down in history as one of America’s best loved writers. Timeless, in other words.
However, there are several things that stand out about Stephen King and are unique to Stephen King. These are attributes that not many other writers possess, and are elements that contribute to his timelessness.
Without further ado, here are my top 7 reasons as to why I read Stephen King.
